Evaluating Organisational Mission using the Effectiveness Toolkit - Online Workshop
In our continued commitment to support our members, the Alliance is engaging in a programme of activities geared towards strengthening organisational effectiveness. In this workshop, we will engage participants in using the Effectiveness Toolkit to re-evaluate our organisational purpose in a changing world – how our mission may have changed, and the strategic steps we can take to adapt what we are doing, how we are doing it and how this can be resourced most appropriately.
Join us for an in depth session with Jen Curran of the Lasting Difference Consultancy and Ceris Jones, Mentor.
Date: Wednesday 9 February 2022
Time: 10 am - 12 noon
What the Session will cover:
This session will give an overview of the five core areas of effectiveness defined in the revised Effectiveness Toolkit, with a particular focus on the first area:
- Purpose
- Governance
- Impact
- Sustainability
- Development
Who is the Session for: The session is open to members of the Alliance who wish to review their organisational practice and purpose, especially with the increasing urgency of the climate crisis, Covid-19 pandemic and other changes within the development landscape. Participants will have the opportunity to test out using the Toolkit and share good practice with peers. The session is especially useful for small to medium-sized non-profit organisations/NGOs based in Scotland who are working in the field of international development.
Software: Zoom (all you need is a charged laptop, tablet or mobile and internet connection to join the session)
Resources: The newly revised Effectiveness Toolkit is a straightforward tool that supports organisations to review their work against a set of international development and organisational good practice principles. It helps you to assess priority areas for action and plan for continuous improvement with useful tips, guidance and resources. Organisational effectiveness is essential to ensure the sustainability of the critical work carried out by Scottish NGOs to ensure a fairer world, free from poverty, injustice and environmental threats.
