Who is it for: Trustees working with international development charities
Topic: Safeguarding for Trustees
About the series:
Over the past year, the international development sector has been working hard to transform safeguarding policy, capacity and practice to ensure that those we work with are safe and protected as far as possible from abuse, exploitation or harassment in any form. In Scotland particularly, there has been a considerable amount of work in this area. To take this forward, it is clear that strong and committed leadership is critical to embed and nurture healthy safeguarding cultures in organisations.
The responsibility to ensure that organisations have a healthy safeguarding culture and the highest standards of safeguarding lies with the trustees. Therefore, the Alliance is providing a set of workshops for board members, to ensure that Scotland-based organisations working internationally are supported and equipped to transform polices and practice, and strengthen their capacity.
The first training session will take place on September 10 and will be repeated at six weekly intervals at locations both inside and beyond the central belt over 2019 and 2020. To ensure that as many organisations as possible are able to access this training, it is likely that there will be space for one trustee per organisation.
Details about the next dates within the series will be published as soon as possible. For more information, please contact Philippa Ramsden.
REGISTRATION FOR THIS FIRST TRAINING HAS NOW OPENED – SPACES ARE LIMITED.
